Brenda Curtwright, Ph.D., CCC-SLP

Founder, Speech-Language Pathologist

Dr. Curtwright started her private practice in 2015 to provide cognitive rehabilitation services and social skills training to the Tampa Bay Community. 

Dr. Curtwright has worked on the staff of the University of South Florida’s Morsani Medical School’s Department of Psychiatry for 14 years prior to starting her practice. While at Morsani Medical School, Dr. Curtwright worked with patients with traumatic brain injury, stroke, and mild cognitive dysfunction. 

She also served as a speech-language pathologist on the neuropsychiatric team that served as consultant to Hillsborough County Schools for 10 years.

Melanie Harlan, M.A., M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist and Audiologist

Melanie Harlan is a Speech-Language Pathologist and Audiologist that works part-time at Brenda Curtwright and Associates. Melanie studied Communication Sciences & Disorders at the University at Buffalo and also has a degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from the State University of New York at Fredonia.

Renee Ruff, M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Renee has been working with children and adults in the Tampa Bay area, in a variety of settings, since 1996. She enjoys utilizing her experience and book knowledge to help her clients improve their communication skills and self-confidence, in order to help them feel comfortable in all communicative situations. Renee always strives to learn new innovative ways to improve her skills in order to help others.

Devin Connelly, M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Devin Connelly is a Speech-Language Pathologist with Brenda Curtwright and Associates. Devin has a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of South Florida and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association. Devin also works as a Speech-Language Pathologist for Manatee County Schools, where she offers services to children in pre-K and high school settings.

Marisol Thornberry, M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist

Marisol Thornberry is a Speech-Language Pathologist that works part-time at Brenda Curtwright and Associates. Marisol received her master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of South Florida and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association. Additionally, Marisol works with Hillsborough County Public Schools to provide speech and language therapy sessions for children in preschool through 8th grade.

Kathy Seymour

Office Manager

Kathy Seymour graduated in 2014 with an associate degree in Allied Health. Kathy was been a Financial Specialist with the USF Department of Psychiatry for over seven years. Prior to USF, Kathy was a data entry supervisor at Diversified Ambulance Billing where she oversaw the input of 911 ambulance reports for multiple counties in the state of Florida.

Office Assistant

Jacqueline Egelfeld is a graduate of the University of Florida, where she received her bachelor's of Health Science and certificate in Spanish for the Professions. Prior to joining BCAA, Jacqueline performed data entry with UF’s Department of Clinical and Health Psychology and designed creative materials for General Psychology students.
